Programming the HD1 via the Keypad for FM and Digital

How to Program the HD1 Frequency in FM mode:

Step 1: Make sure radio is in frequency mode. (short press EXIT to switch between frequency mode and channel mode) (Long press EXIT key to switch between DMR and FM. FM means frequency mode. DMR means digital mode.)

Step 2: Select Band A or Band B

Step 3: Enter the frequency you want to program (i.e. – 146.370)

Step 4: Set the following:

Step/Power/Vox/VOX level/W/N/TOT/setting

Step 5: set CTCSS/DCS

Remark:
C-CDC  – means transmitting and receiving CTCSS/DCS is the same

R-CDC – receiving CTCSS/DCS – Use this if you only want to receive if the repeater outputs the same CTCSS tone.  This is helpful if you have multiple repeaters close by that use same frequency. (i.e. – RACES repeaters close by that use different tones)

T-CDC – transmitting CTCSS/DCS.  This issued for repeaters that require a PL tone to access it.

Step5: shift UP
A. OFF means no shift transmitting frequency=receiving frequency
B. Plus means: transmitting frequency figure is bigger than receiving frequency
C. Minus means: transmitting frequency figure is smaller than receiving frequency
D. Shift frequency: transmitting frequency-receiving frequency

Step6: Main Set–> Save channel–>Save CH.Name. To save channel no. and channel name.

How to Program the HD1 Frequency in Digital mode:

Make sure radio is in frequency mode.

(Short press EXIT key to switch between frequency and channel mode.)

First we need add priority contacts inside radio.

Menu–>Contacts–>Hand write the contacts info. Like

ID,Type(private call/group call/all call),Name,City,Province,Country.

Now to actually program a frequency into the radio:

Step 1 –  Long press EXIT key to switch between DMR and FM. FM means analog mode, DMR means digital mode.

Step 2 – Hand write the frequency you want to communicate, such as 440.6265

Step 3 – BandA Set, or BandB Set, based on the frequency you are programming is in BandA or Band B

Step 4 – Step/Power/Vox/VOX level/W/N/TOT/setting

Step 5 – Choose Color code (Most oif the ones I have seen are CC1 or CC2)

Step 6 – Shift UP

A. OFF means no shift transmitting frequency=receiving frequency

B. Plus means: transmitting frequeny figure is bigger than receiving frequency

C. Minus means: transmitting frequeny figure is smaller than receiving frequency

D. Shift frequency: transmitting frequency- receiving frequency

Step 7 – Encrypt Type—>Normal or Enhanced or OFF(no encryption)

Step 8 – Encrypt No.: choose from 1 to 16( the password for each group is preset in software)

Step 9 – Dmr mode:

A.Direct–direct communication between radio( not via repeater)

  1. Repeater–communicate via repeater
  2. Double Slot–DCDM
  3. DMR slot–choose time slot 1 or 2.

Step 10 – Contacts–choose private call or group call contacts in this programming channel

Step 11 – Main Set Save channel–>Save CH.Name. To save channel name and channel no.
